This icon of St. John is Russian Orthodox design and was made in Greece. St. John is believed to have baptized Christ and was considered an ascetic and great prophet in the Greek Orthodox church. He was beheaded by Herod in the 1st century and is the patron saint of godparents.

Surfaces are made of pure 950 degree silver. Each icon is hand polished and hand hammered on a heavy wooden base. The hand painted sections are egg tempura colors.
