Orthodox Icon - St. Nicholas - Silver - 1 pc

This icon of St. Nicholas was made in Greece. St. Nicholas was a white-bearded saint and was admired for his love of giving presents to poor children and families. In northern Europe and later in the U.S., Santa Claus became the name for St. Nicholas. He is the patron saint of children and sailors.

St. Nicholas nameday is celebrated on December 6 and names include Nicoletta, Nikolas, Nicole and Nicholas.

Surfaces are made of pure 950 degree silver. Each icon is hand polished and hand hammered on a heavy wooden base. The hand painted sections are egg tempura colors.
