Greek Revithia Soup Recipe


  • 1 lb revithia (chick peas)
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 2-3 whole onions
  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 lemon


Soak chick peas overnight.

Next day empty water and rinse. Add baking soda to chickpeas. Mix and leave it on the side for one to two hours. Use a towel and rub them to remove skins. Rinse them very well. Add water in large pan and boil. Once water is boiling add the chickpeas and onions. Let boil until soft. When soft, add oil and salt. Let boil again. Serve with lemon.
